Bach Ma National Park

Hue Imperial City
Also known as the Imperial Citadel, this amazing complex is where Vietnam’s emperors used to live, protected by the thick stone walls and moat surrounding them. The To Mieu Temple Complex is another fantastic part to explore, as is the Purple Forbidden City. While much of the Imperial Citadel was damaged during the Vietnam War and remained neglect once the communists came to power, this delightful attraction is simply a must-see when in Hue.

Thien Mu Pagoda
One of the things to do in Hue is to visit Thien Mu Pagoda which is situated on the northern side of the Huong River, just 3 km from the Citadel. Thien Mu Pagoda is considered as one of the spiritual hubs in Vietnam. The temple was established in 1601 but the pagoda wasn’t built until 1844. Nowadays it is a peaceful and relaxing spot to visit, and one of the main attractions in Hue. Tourists can easily reach here either by a bicycle or through a dragon boat by crossing the river Huong River.

Perfume River spans approximately 80 kilometres in length, flowing from Truong Son Mountain through Hue City Centre and Bang Lang Fork. Locally known as Huong River, it was so named after wilted flowers from upriver orchards are carried through its flow during autumnal months, resulting in a strong floral scent.
