Nightlife in Hue can hardly be described as scintillating. It’s been said that the raciest thing about it is when the police show up and the illegal street vendors disappear like dust into thin air. Still, if your scene is a few quiet drinks hanging out with backpackers and/or locals then there’s no reason why nights out in Hue shouldn’t be loads of fun.
Brown Eyes Bar Hue
Brown Eyes Bar Hue attracts a good mix of fun-loving locals and tourists with its extensive cocktail menu and light-hearted entertainment. Set along Chu Van An Street, the bar opens at 17:00 and only closes after the last customer leaves. This makes it a popular nightlife venue for those who want to party until late in Hue.
Le Gouverneur Bar at La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa
If you are not worried of what a night of drinking and Cuban cigars can do to your trip budget, you should definitely head to this bar which serves the finest cocktails, wines and whiskeys in an elegant setting that takes one back to the 1920s. It is set inside a French colonial villa and exudes luxury with its polished wooden bar, subdued lighting, a stunning terrace with views overlooking the Perfume River and comfortable seating.
Le’s Garden Hue
One of the best bars and nightclubs in Hue for backpackers who are looking to enjoy a night of authentic Vietnamese cuisine and some strong liquor will absolutely fall in love with this place! It is located on Pham Ngu Lao Street, a 10-minute drive from the citadel and we love that this is an open air place with a simple and minimalistic design and many wooden communal tables, traditional lanterns, and hanging greenery that gives it a cozy feeling! Highly-recommended are the Vietnamese spring rolls, banh mi, mojito, and caipirinha cocktails. Every Friday and Saturday, Le’s Garden Hue offers a free drink for ladies by popping a balloon containing a note of the drink they’ll get.
The DMZ Bar
Another exciting Hue nightlife spot, DMZ Bar is amongst the most popular names in the city and it has been since 1994. Apart from an extensive range of wines and cocktails, the different cuisines on offer such as Italian and Vietnamese ensure that you go back home with a satisfied tummy as well! The bar also offers impressive happy hour promos that change from day to day. Every Saturday between 17:00 and 21:00, you can enjoy buy-two-free-one deals for vodka, rum, and gin. If you’re visiting on a Tuesday, wines are 50% off all day long and a large pizza costs VND 120,000 (normal price ranges from VND 151,000 until VND 195,000) between 14:00 and 18:00.
Hottuna Restaurant & Bar
Hottuna Restaurant & Bar is a great place for tourists coming to Hue City. The unique new decoration design gives you a new feeling compared to other restaurants in Hue. With a long menu of dishes for you to choose without worrying about the price because the price here is also very reasonable. Go straight ahead Le Loi St from Hue Railway Station. Take the 1st right at Doi Cung St, then turn left at Vo Thi Sau St to reach the restaurant.
